Kenilworth Town FC About us We are a football club who run a number of junior and senior teams for women and men. We are based at Gypsy Lane
in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. Kenilworth Town is an Association Football Club based in the town of Kenilworth in Warwickshire,
UK. The club was established
in 1936 and we moved to our current Gypsy Lane ground in 1962. For the 2007 - 2008 season we will be running two senior men's football teams and several
junior sides. Our senior sides
finished the 2006 - 2007 season in Division Three of the Midland Football Combination League. We will be adding another senior
side for 2007 - 2008 which will play in a lower league. We run several junior sides for boys and girls from the under 9 age group to the under 16 age group. These
teams play in the Mid Warwickshire Football League. |

ASK In a few words According to the 2001 census the population of Kenilworth is over 23,000. This is significantly more than it was
in January 1965 when our old station closed. The line between Coventry and Leamington Spa runs through the middle of town and is used today by Virgin Trains and various freight
companies.
Rebuilding Kenilworth station was proposed in the late 90’s and the Local Transport Plan target was to do this by September
2002. For a variety of reasons the project has slipped. The main problem at the moment is the capacity of the line.
The rail industry are planning various schemes to relieve this network bottleneck but at the moment none of the proposals
include running a service to Kenilworth.
This is despite full support from the local authorities and a large
majority of opinion in town.
ASK is a campaign for a rebuilding the railway station
in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, UK.
ASK What?
We are campaigning for a railway station in Kenilworth and the train service our town deserves.
ASK Why?
So that the citizens of Kenilworth can benefit from a mode of transport that otherwise serves only to cut the town in two.
ASK How?
In a positive manner we will make sure the opinions of those in favour of the station are given
their due weight in the planning process.
